my my, already half of the year? i feel like still in february. time went by waaay to fast.

anyway, i somehow managed to watch “leon - the professional” with jean reno as leon the cleaner and young padmé amidala natalie portman as mathilda the girl.
… THIS MOVIE IS GREAT. i became fascinated immediately. great story, great acting, great everything. one of the best movies by luc besson (fifth element, taxi, these are also genious and well-known). the character mathilda especially captivated me - she’s just “wow!”. such a strong mind in such a cute girl.
long story short, i made some wallpapers again. first one is a really poor 10-minute attempt, not even worth looking at it. the second one is much better. the third wp is something different that just happened. fourth one too.
why “little june”? i don’t know, but the original script (really recommended!) somehow reminded me of that one song… (yep, also by my bro, he seems to have a bad influence about my taste of music :P )

the song is “little june” by groove coverage (again)…

She was out with her friends almost every night
She was young she had fun ’till the morninglight

Never took always gave, that was new for us
Cause love will never die …

Little June is living for tomorrow
Taken away on a beautiful day

Little June is swallowing her sorrow
She closed her eyes as she left for the skies

Little June is living for tomorrow
Every day she justs wanted to stay

Little June is swallowing her sorrow,
Now that she’s gone we all have to move on.

When she left we all cried, it could not be true
By the hands of a man that she barely knew

Little June like the moon shining down on us
Cause love will never die …

Little June is living for tomorrow
Taken away on a beautiful day

Little June is swallowing her sorrow
She closed her eyes as she left for the skies

Little June is living for tomorrow
Every day she justs wanted to stay

Little June is swallowing her sorrow
Now that she’s gone we all have to move on

fantasy map #2

after a long time i’m finally updating again. i had really much stuff to do, beside exams and all.

here’s another fantasy map drawn in photoshop. the scenery is a steampunk / steamfantasy world called yuria with elves, dwarfs and humans. the latter live in huge macropoles which are connected with railroads, while the other races are less technically advanced. i really like the steamfantasy scenario: mixing fantasy, 18th century and steam-technology instead of electricity. if you want to know more, visit brassgoggles. it’s all about the goggles…

the map follows a very different style than my first map, since i decided to try out the latest techniques of butch curry. because i taught myself photoshop, i’m glad to learn how photoshop really works and i discover new tricks to use in every episode of his ingenious podcast. and, it’s fun!

merry christmas everyone!

i made a christmas present for my little sister jacky… and she loved it! printed on 38,5×24″, it looks very good in her bedroom - it’s a wall-paper, at last.
because i had to print it, there’s only one size, but it is in 16:10 (if you choose “stretched”, it’ll still look okay). if you’d like to have a 5:4 or 4:3 version, sorry, you will need to resize it. there’s not much more i would have done anyway.

sorry, i just HAD to do it. take an evening of coding, a cool brother with a strange taste of music plus a wonderful person, add time to it, and this is what you get…

i always wanted to create some sort of dark, melancholy, nearly gothic background. but it turned out to be a mix of happiness and sadness, and i like it!
as for the “strange taste of music”… anyone knows sylver? it’s trance, i usually avoid this kind of music, but the lyrics of this particular song (as trashy as they may sound to you) really inspired me to make this wallpaper (and made me listen to it many times…). oh, and i changed the line “take me back to something” to “take me back to sunlight” for no particular reason. it just fits.

Never felt this way before
Since your smile unlocked the door
To let me fall in love again
I’m not frightened anymore
You were sent from up above
As a little piece of heaven
You showered me with love
No taking, only giving

Little angel, young at heart
Full of passion, full of life
You’re my ever shining star
Thank you for being who you are
You were sent from up above
As a little piece of heaven
You showered me with love
No taking, only giving

Take me back to something
That I lost somehow, somewhere along the way
Take me back to something
That I need somehow, to brighten up my day

you know who you are.

sylver - take me back

the rose was photographed by a really skilled photographer from greece, Stavros Markopoulos. check his astonishing pictures!

lack of updates… no new ideas, lot of homework. sorry.
here’s a wallpaper i made for my younger sister jacky. i wanted to take a photo of the full moon at the lake, but then i shook the camera too much… there were two nearly heart-shaped moons instead of one round. anyway, i kept that idea and worked it out. i had this picture in my mind’s eye for a long time, but i never had an appropriate motif. thanks sis!
